Our Story

Granola for Good didn’t start with a business plan. It started with a good recipe, good friends, and the good people in my neighborhood who wanted to help out because they could.

People have always loved my granola, but I never dreamed I could start my own business. I have always wanted to help my community, but was still looking ways to contribute.

A friend came up with the idea of “Granola for Good” as a way to bring together my passion for food with my desire to make a difference in the community. It sounded like a great idea, but with no financing, and no commercial kitchen, I didn’t know how I could pull it off.

It wasn’t until my daughter and I volunteered to cook at a restaurant serving homeless people that Granola for Good became a reality. They believed in my idea and so for ten pounds of granola a month, Inspiration Corporation in Chicago gave me a kitchen home at The Living Room Cafe.

A portion of net proceeds will benefit Inspiration Corporation (Inspiration Corporation) to help people who are affected by homelessness and poverty lead happier, more fulfilling lives. As Granola for Good grows, it is my hope to work with other organizations who do good in the world.

Along the way, many others have helped me bring Granola for Good to your home. I hope you enjoy it and maybe share some with a friend. I like to think it’s not just good granola, but granola for good.
